Student: "I've got lots to think about Ms. Ware" (as arms droop to his side and then crumbles on the counter)
Me: "Yeah, Adam*, what do you have on your mind?"
Student: "You see, there are a lot of changes happening in my body."
Me: "You're right, that is a lot to think about."
Student: "I need to think about who I'm going to ask out. That's a lot of responsibility. Think about all the girls to choose from to date."
Me: "Good thing you are only 13 and you have lots of time before you have to make some decisions."
Some days don't you wish boys still had this perspective!
*don't worry... names have been changed! "Adam" is one of my students that is autistic. Today he told me what a great sewing teacher I was. He makes me smile :)
